Cognitive Science . . .
...is the interdisciplinary study of minds, brains and behaviour. Many disciplines contribute to this overarching goal, including, but not restricted to, Psychology, Philosophy, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Neuroscience, Linguistics, and Anthropology.
At University College Dublin, we offer a one year taught masters degree in Cognitive Science, leading to an M.Sc. The taught masters can be taken over two years if studying part-time. We also offer degrees of M.Sc. and Ph.D. by research, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Science. The School of Philosophy has recently introduced a new one year taught MA programme on the topics of embodied consciousness and cognition. You can find more information about this degree at the School of Philosophy website.

Cognitive Science is normally taught at the postgraduate level. However we also provide an undergraduate module entitled "COMP 20090: An Introduction to Cognitive Science", taught in the Spring semester. For details, click on "Undergraduate" in the above menu bar.

Please note, the cognitive science programme is not a clinical or counselling programme. We do not teach cognitive behavioural therapy, or any kind of therapy, and it is also not a stepping stone on any accredited pathway within the psychological sciences.
